racism and barack obama: if it looks like a duck

FRIDAY

TUESDAY

so im the faculty advisor of a black organization on campus, so we had a meeting and the
question of is racism playing a part in the opposition to barack obamas policies came up

and it was just amazing to me the position of some black students that racism has nothing to do w/it

one guy say i work w/these folk and they just concerned about communism, socialism, the loss of their country -  this a young black kid

and im sitting there stunned, usually me and the radicals tussling, they saying no difference, me saying
if mccain palin had won you would see the difference right away but now its me and the radicals

challenging the conservative blacks

and i try to stay out of their tussles cause im the faculty advisor and should just sit there basically,
little nudge here and there, but i lost it, i was like please, spare me this bullshit (i didnt actually say bullshit but thats what i was thinking)

start talking about how most of that communism, socialim, birther, nazi bullshit  just a facade to cover their inability to deal with a black president and my vehemence surprise me, i just wasnt ready to have to explain how racism work to young black kids

then the conservative position claim we saying all whitefolk racists, we reply no, saying the rightwing wingnuts are, and they being played by powers that do know better

the young brother continue to defend them and i am amazed - the clarence thomas school of blackness

in my face -

then a caribbean student say blacks in america are too preoccupied with race
and that got another conversation started, that went rather well in terms of exposing

folk to those different life approaches, - it was a damn good meeting

but i dont feel like i should have to make this argument - you always hate to call out racism
cause you have to brace yourself for the blowback

but its just so blatant to those of us who know the game, its just so blatant
im not going to waste my time trying to convince folk who dont want to see

my condolences for all the folk swore the election of obama meant the end of racism
instead its stirred up a hornets nest of folk afraid they losing their country

to the hordes

is joe wilson a racist?  sure he is, a devotee of strom thurmond and a carolina classic

if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, might as well be a duck

do we care if he a racist, not really, o but what hes begun to represent
this free floating racial anxiety thats bearing in on obama w/a laser sight

thats not right

obama not going to want to go there, its not to his advantage for anything to become racial
anything that fans the racial flames is not a good thing,

folk fanning these flames calling for an america we dont want to see

an angry bunker america tearing at its own guts

and bumbling about in the world

obama dont want that, obama dont want folk to notice that he black

be willing to work with him instead of playing out their insecurities on him

well, i believe that cat out the bag myself - best i get my work done

and prepare to take incoming fire

but if it come down to the come down ima do my part

BUT THEY HAD TO KEEP ON FIGHTING BuffaloSoldier salutes mythic/real John Henry. Whew. Read SoulDoctor's blog. First, I'm just reading the Wed blog and I'm happy to see I was some help to The Doctor. His approved message was recieved loud and clear. Now about Racism, new BlackAmerican students and The LionKing. Brother, I warned everyone what would happen if PostRacial became a serious part of the narrative. Remember, SoulDoctor, The then future President courted America by promising if you elect me that's proof that there is a new dawn in America. You're washing away
the sins of the past and sweeping aside Nat Turner's, Malcolm X's, The Black Panther's etc view
of America. That was always the danger and I remember sounding the alarm. I spoke about all of those
tears I saw: Jesse Jackson's, that ever present Professor whose name escapes me, and others
The cry went out: WE DID IT! But just what did we do? Did we set in motion the day when misinformed
PostRacials condemn us as overly sensitive? Their backs will buckle under a Racism that they will never see. Remember, Dear SoulDoctor, the greatest trick Racism will ever pull is convincing his

Facism and Socialism are interchangable. Great Stuff! LionKing, welcome to Amerika! What was that
saying? Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people? Sill, I have
to say this, and I expect to catch flax. This is nothing more than a desperate ploy of The Templars
and the Repulsicans to whip themselves back into contention. And those "points of view", well, we
on the Left laughed when the Pres of Ven. said he smelled Sulpher as he stood where George Bush
stood. The long view is that a Black Man is the Pres of The United States of America. That's not
a feat that will be equalled by a white man in,say, Ghana or Nigeria, or even South Africa. It's not
something that can be undone. One more thing, I don't ever want to hear publicly exposed what I hear on buses and in barbershops. For example, a prominent female comidian called for free fried

It is an interesting note that the notion of racism has completely evolved into the ideas of socialism and communism! Tracing the reason for such would not be difficult although seeing this full-blown in the United States is really interesting, especially at a Black perspective.
