let us recap, first he say that the republican healthcare plan

is dont get sick, and if you do get sick, die quickly

the repubs tried to make points by saying this as bad as joe wilson calling obama a liar
they demanded grayson apologize and so he got on the floor and said i apologize alright, i apologize

to the 44,000 dead every year because they didnt have health insurance

you go boy

some yale healthcare mortality report came out a week ago say 44,000 a year =

that equal 40 a day ie as we speak

only point that i differ with him is when defending his statements on cnn he called republicans
foot dragging neanderthals, now i think that was a little over the top

no sense insulting neanderthals, they were pack animals werent they, at least they cared about each other

more than i can say about these republicans, they got no heart

ima send that boy grayson a contribution, make sure he know rickydoc flowers got his back

before i come to my senses and remember that gushing over a politician is a recipe for heartbreak

well, its been awhile since i been in the house
i see papa gede nibo bey la kwa been in the yard

dropping blessings

need to catch up with my hoodoo folk, i been underwater lately
clocking pages, in fact just did a section in novel where papa gede nibo bey

plays a role in giving my character, tucept jubilation highjohn his 1st divination chain
i been working strong on my novel lately, feeling that desperation to get it done

was thinking about the public option of the healthcare bill, which got voted down in senate committee yesterday

the rightwing claims it is a stalking horse for a single payer system like medicare et al
of course it is - thats why we like it

the rightwing claims that it is designed to put the insurance industry out of business - of course it is
whats wrong with that, why not just deliver health and use all that money going to insurance profits

and fatcat salaries to deliver cheaper health care, the insurance industry just doesnt make sense
not when x many 100s of 1000s dying every year just because they dont have health insurance

now when x many 100s of 1000s a year going bankrupt because of catastrophic health bills
and instead of just paying for healthcare we give the insurance companies billions of $ to gamble

on folks lives, with the intent of denying coverage to anybody who might really need it

its an abomination, thats what it is

but in todays political climate a real healthcare bill is almost impossible to achieve, not with lobbyist
lining every pocket they can get their hands in, so the current battle over the public option

stalwarts like schumer and pelosi et al warring to get even a weak public option into the bills working thru congress now, because thats the way transformative social programs have always been implemented

get a weak public option in and let it evolve, triggers, whatever it take, just get it in, let gods of political expediency do the rest

its a moral abomination to let folk die just because they dont have health insurance

while the fat cats get cadillac care for the most infinitesimal aliments, its a crime against humanity

hello world, so this my latest facebook post:

ARF still trying to figure out how to make of this fb thing a political instrument-have not yet found the groove-one builds ideological armies by establishing yourself as a font of spiritual & strategic advice-basically what i call myself doing here-patience puppy-longgame you count in generations

i ejoyed making this post, i like letting the mask slip sometime
couple of folk say keep on doing what you doing, one of the good

things about the facebook echo chamber, you can always find somebody on your wavelength
encourage you in whatever it is you do, the one before this i put my little personal mantra down

so im the faculty advisor of a black organization on campus, so we had a meeting and the
question of is racism playing a part in the opposition to barack obamas policies came up

and it was just amazing to me the position of some black students that racism has nothing to do w/it

one guy say i work w/these folk and they just concerned about communism, socialism, the loss of their country -  this a young black kid

and im sitting there stunned, usually me and the radicals tussling, they saying no difference, me saying
if mccain palin had won you would see the difference right away but now its me and the radicals

challenging the conservative blacks

and i try to stay out of their tussles cause im the faculty advisor and should just sit there basically,
little nudge here and there, but i lost it, i was like please, spare me this bullshit (i didnt actually say bullshit but thats what i was thinking)

start talking about how most of that communism, socialim, birther, nazi bullshit  just a facade to cover their inability to deal with a black president and my vehemence surprise me, i just wasnt ready to have to explain how racism work to young black kids

then the conservative position claim we saying all whitefolk racists, we reply no, saying the rightwing wingnuts are, and they being played by powers that do know better

the young brother continue to defend them and i am amazed - the clarence thomas school of blackness

in my face -

then a caribbean student say blacks in america are too preoccupied with race
and that got another conversation started, that went rather well in terms of exposing

folk to those different life approaches, - it was a damn good meeting

but i dont feel like i should have to make this argument - you always hate to call out racism
cause you have to brace yourself for the blowback

but its just so blatant to those of us who know the game, its just so blatant
im not going to waste my time trying to convince folk who dont want to see

my condolences for all the folk swore the election of obama meant the end of racism
instead its stirred up a hornets nest of folk afraid they losing their country

to the hordes

is joe wilson a racist?  sure he is, a devotee of strom thurmond and a carolina classic

if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, might as well be a duck

do we care if he a racist, not really, o but what hes begun to represent
this free floating racial anxiety thats bearing in on obama w/a laser sight

thats not right

obama not going to want to go there, its not to his advantage for anything to become racial
anything that fans the racial flames is not a good thing,

folk fanning these flames calling for an america we dont want to see

an angry bunker america tearing at its own guts

and bumbling about in the world

obama dont want that, obama dont want folk to notice that he black

be willing to work with him instead of playing out their insecurities on him

well, i believe that cat out the bag myself - best i get my work done

and prepare to take incoming fire

okay, ricks tripping, was doing email cleanup, shutting down an old deadone, checking rarely checked ones, you know that kind of cleanup, when i thought to check my twitter account, i got one but i dont do

much with it, twitter hasnt spoken to me, but while i was there, i thought what to say, and i wrote, i am trickmaster rickydoc, gods own, cause i was feeling the power at the moment and then im thinking thats

what i should do with twitter, i only got 10 followers so its not like anybody is listening, ima manifest my
prophetic thing on twitter, cause i got one you know, consider myself an aspring prophet of the hoodoo way

i put that aspiring' in there so as to kinda cut the arrogance of claiming to be a prophet, and this not something i go around telling folk, im telling you dear regulators cause thats part of the rootsblog contract

but i really do consider myself a contemporary cosmopolitan prophetic manifestation of the hoodoo way
whatever that mean and usually i keep it hidden behind the facade of fiction cause this just not something

you go around claiming but on twitter ima let that headset come out to play - see where it takes me

in the meantime back to work, decided im giving fri sat and sun to my novel, will have to pay catchup during the week at schoolhouse but im real tired of playing around with this thing - i want this novel done

okay, maybe this is wishful thinking in todays climate but folk argue against the public option because
it might drive the insurance companies out of business - why is this a bad thing, why do we need an

insurance middleman in the equation anyway, just deliver healthcare and save bundles of money
that now go to obsene insurance company profits and fatcat salaries

put the thealth insurance employees to work delivering healthcare and let the insurance fatcats

find another line of work - health reform w/o saving money is not health reform - since the political climate

wont let us achieve real savings - ie the demise of the health insurance industry, the very least we can do

is the public option

okay, i suspect i should resist the temptation here but sometime you just cant help yourself

what you saw the other night was not what you thought you saw - this hear the real 1st

black president here - obama should have jumped that fool

well okay, maybe not, actually that fool played into obamas hand,

hello world, buried in my john henry thread

temptation this morning to to dig into schoolhouse work

which is baying at my heels but im thinking no matter what i need to

do my daily three as long as i can, thats what happen every semester, trying to

keep up with my schoolhouse obligations the work get pushed aside - not this time, showtime up in here

me and john henry, heads up mountain, we coming thru

im thinking this drive of his to get it all done before they take him down

MONDAY

have been dug into my johh henry sequence, and my previous post on john henry embarrass me already -

just read the nelson book on john henry and i dont think he is very convincing about john williams henry as the mythical prototype

but his account

of how the john henry legend has grown and been used by so many was fascinating as was a public radio special free on itunes, thats right i said a free download, that i found very provocative in terms of what john henry has meant to so many different types of folk

over the years and in parrticular mississippi john hurts take, where he say take this hammer to the captain, tell him im gone - ie aint working myself to death for the man - interesting

so now im doing raw manuscript and there is nothing worse on that planet that doing raw manuscript - im going to do just enuf to plug up the holes in the manuscript with new thread and clean it up as i keep working because i dont want to get bogged down for the month or two it would take to make raw manuscript viable

okay some commentary, obama losing ground among white voters, approval in free fall - still reaching out to repubs and such and thats fruitless as they fearmonger their vulnerables and losing the full support of progressives with his willingness to sacrifice their concerns

between the rock and the hardplace, boy - all i can do is hope he show some steel come wednesday but im not confident that he will

and i believe im one of the folk growing increasingly nervous about afghanistan

oh what the hell, im gone, my heart is not in this post, this is the last day before 2nd week of school starts and im feeling driven to get as much done on my john henry thread as i can before i have to focus

and i haven done any of my student manuscripts either, 2nd week of school and im behind already

catching hell w/my nephew, well not hell, but definitely hassle
adopting a 17 year old into your space is more than a notion

finally finished that king piece and sent it off, now we will see if they ok w/what i did
am back on the novel, between king and schoolhouse i havent worked in about a week

thats a bummer

was reading over about 10 pages of manuscript this morning and thinking will this thing ever be a real novel
sometime you just want to quit trying, just live out your life like other folk, a civilian

i think what i like most about being a novelist is its the ony thing in life i feel like i might actually fail at
sometimes i curse the day i read john o killens because hadnt been for john i would be some other

kind of writer, some easier kind of writer, nonfiction, i can knock that off in my sleep, just point at the keyboard and the words flow, its just a matter of putting the rewrite time in and a product is guaranteed

novel, you can put the time in and nothing is guaranteed except frustration
but lord knows i love the life, aint even no question about it, long as i can sit at

the keyboard ima keep kicking it, if i dont win this thing i will die surprised

on that note let me get some john henry done, will maintain a 3 hour daily workload
as long as i can, before the schoolhouse knocks me off my game - it always does

lets see if i can throw you a few bones of commentary before i close down shop here

it hurts to see obama floundering like he been doing lately, healthcare, afghanistan, even
his little speech to the schoolkids, i am the last one to yell racism but it appear to be the case

with the intensity of his opposition, until i remember the way they treated clinton, they jumped
the big dog just as hard, they have made the politics of personal destruction the default option

i got to go, im feeling all the more desperate to get my work done
my only ittle contribution to the amelioration of the human condition
