so, i hear jayne cortez moved on, job well done
also went to see django, way too much excess, way too much testosterone poisoning
bunch of unbelieveable moves, and when i think of slave heros i think of nat turner
who ran away and returned, saying whats the point of just saving myself
but all that taken into consideration, that django was off the chain
i am from the delta you know, born and bred
i found it inspirational, inspired me to get my work done, im putting everything on hold, come
hell or high water ima finish my draft, thats what freemen do in the book of flowers

FRIDAY 12/28
not kicking ass, not taking names - got schoolhouse obligations like barnacles fucking w/my flow
doing what i can, what little time i have been able to give it been productive, much cleaner work
i take what i can get: and im happy for it - step by step, inch by inch
the cliff: i wish obama had the balls to speak truth to the people: tell us everybodys taxes need to go up, deal with it
the austerity moves of both plans (obama & repubs) will cut gov services to point where its just
this isnt a crises, its a strategy - for years repubs been defunding the gov to reach this very situation
where it cant afford to function, so they can 'drown it in the bathtub' - i despair - how long will the american
people support this bullshit, also i was reading online about all the citizens who received bushmaster assault
weapons for xmas and posted photos of themselves posing with their new toys under the tree on instagram
kids w/their xmas toys, it was dispiriting, assault weapons aint nothing but man (and woman) killers, and i was
reading where the videogames had links to the companies selling the bushmaster etc they use in the game
and you know that the reason many of these folk getting them is that they call themselves preparing
for when the brown and black hordes overrun the gates, they are so eager to use their toys, these
are sobering times, on so many levels, but one thing is certain, the repub 'fever' has to be broken, make them vote
for a tax increase, make them do it - i say go over the cliff, true its going to hurt some folk, including me
but im ready for some tough love, this current reality is untenable

Rest for the Weary Report: got a groove on, kicking ass, taking names
mostly its been cutting down expository passages where i get to
soapboxing, teaching & preaching, this draft instead of being explicit
& trying to lay down knowledge, im going enigmatic, minimalist
magical narrative, mythical (one hopes), poetry draft
whatever it is im doing its a better book

WEDNESDAY 12/19
so, buffalo soldier asked me if in context of my new focus on cosmology was i familiar w/de dogon
i went into mojo rising: confesssions of a 21st century conjureman, pub 2000, and extraced this pasage
to tell him, yes, i am familiar with the dogon, but that aint science, i want a little science to go w/my mythwork
but then i look at the passage again and not only does it fit my masks of the universe aspect of inquiry
but i think it says something to me as evolving hoodooman about placing myself in ritual harmony w/the universe
even if just for myself i have to tinker w/my dailygrind, or at least my perception of my dailygrind
so that my daily activities put me in a ritual process of cosmic harmony:
"among the dogon of mali, the hogon is master of the cosmic seed. whose every effort unites him to the cosmic order. the personification of the universe. every aspect of the hogons life represents participation in cosmic harmony. the hogons sandals are the ark of nommo that brought humankind into being at the beginning of time. the colors of the hogons tunic represent the four corners of the earth. the hogons spiral headdress is the path of the original cosmic seed. the house of the hogon is a architectural model of the universe. to the right of the door the hogons staff is the axis of the world. to the left the pouch of the world. in the dry season their positions are reversed. during planting season the hogon stays within the homestead so as not to disrupt the process with such powerful lifeforce. the eight stairs of the porch represent the first eight chiefs, therefore every day the hogon treads in the path of the ancestors. in the morning the hogon sits and faces the east for blessing, in the evening the west. the hogons daily behavior expresses in every particular, participation in cosmic harmony. the hogon believe that ritual performers must be in harmony before trying to manipulate the forces of life. in person and office the hogon represents the universe and by the hogons movements help control the cosmic cycles. the hogon is in a state of grace."
