SUNDAY, probably a couple of weeks past last post

i been in a fey space, been half in the zone and now
im fully in, finished a draft, have a coherent text, tried
to keep going on next draft because i dont really have
a good text yet but i was burnt out and decided a day

off, then fluctuated, maybe 2 days off, a week, ended
up taking 2 days off and getting back in the saddle
felt weird not working, after this draft i can redpen
thats when the novel really starts singing, so i want

to do this before i get on road to memphis, tht wil be
the start of a lot of traveling and i want a viable text
before i step away from the woodhsed/zone

i had planned 5 pages a day, which will give me a text
by the 21st and leaving for lisbon on 24th and i figure
if i get a cushion i can lose those road days and just
be ruthless for the week or so im in memphis, which
mean not seeing hardly anybody, which irk folk there

but i got to get my work done, im good with traveling
cause i get even ore ruthless about getting work done
thats all i do in lisbon, look for cool places to get my
work done, i try to have projects worked so i can
redpen them on the plane (which is what im doing
withb this one, its all production strategy to maintain

no matteer waht, but memphis is always a challenge
cause there are so many folk wanting a slice of time

this time i will be doubly ruthless cause i also got to be
working my performance chops, so i had scheduled

5 a day but it appear im doing 10 as i hit the zone
so im scheduling 10, im losing pages, got 77 now
which is really about 180 text pages, below critical mass
far as im concerned, next draft ima try to flesh out but

no slush rick, ima keep losing pages cause this the pruning
im cutting trash and reps and firming up slushy text
im losing pages, but whatever i get is what i get

i will not allow this work to be slushy
every word got to do duty

 

i notice no trumpcrazy tweets, he been put in check,
also i see where trump is going to do infrastructure
this is a good way for him to flip the script, finally
something that is not stark raving mad governance
im sure it will have some objectionable points but its
like jobs and infrastructure, its going to take some of
the pressure off him and thats unfortunate, his bar is
so low folk will be tempted to normalize, we have to
be careful not to allow that, hopefully they will not
be able to maintain current discipline

WEDNESDAY

amazing what a little zone can do
im on page 52 of 80 (losing pages)
single space 10 pt (double it)

i only have two major segments to do
the future scenarios cluster

and the confrtontation at the
crossroads cluster, my endgame

and i will be done w/this phase
it is not a good draft but its coherent
which is a major development

damn near a skeleton but coherent
i will finish this phase this weekend

if i can get 2 polish drafts in over the
rest of the summer im good to go

i will have brought 2 manuscripts into
fruition, thats a damn good woodshed

i throwed down

just got to maintain the superhuman
discipline that burns up mojo, in this
business reasonable dont get it

i got to stay in the zone
& look for another gear
got to do an amadeus

that pivotal scene in amadeus
where he work himself to death
thats the one im talking about

MONDAY  7pm, 15 & on schedule, clean historicals good 4 catchup, next historical batch is pg 25

SUNDAY, 9:27pm, just made my 9, just barely, be nice to get some cushion for tomorrow

SATURDAY, 11:50pm, still on page 7

5 a day is so impossible ive discouraged myself
did not work last 2 days, ima have to cut back to 2 a day
recalibrate my schedule, 2 a day 2 days off equals what

lets say 100 pages, thats 50 fucking days, 2 fucking months
that wont work, when i get on that plane to lisbon i want a draft

so thats about 30 days, 3 a day will do it,

2 is reasonable, 3 is not
3 it is  -  starting today

FRIDAY 6:18  another very good para, still on page 7, oh god please help me

FRIDAY 5:34: 7 measly fucking pages, my schedule call for 20 by now
been working all morning and i got 2 paras, 2 good paras but
just 2 fucking paras, all morning and still on page 7, obviously
3 pages a day is a more reasonable schedule, fuck that

i refuse to do less than 5 pgs a day

when i hit those historical segments i will be able to leap some
now i just got to grind, if i do 7 a day i will catch up to schedule
or i will just be chronically behind, i refuse to do less than 5
if i dont reach that grind in next couple of days i will accept 3
thats draft 1 by middle of june, i want to be on draft 2 by then

this not a real draft, this one just makes the text coherent
but a real 'i can die ok with this draft' will be draft #2

i got to reach for another gear, i refuse to fucking lose
i want that fucking draft and it will take an act of god

to deny me

 

 

THURSDAY

i am so behind, im on page 7 and supposed to be on 15

regarding trump I believe we standing at the crossroads and must be tactically astute - I am not in favor of impeaching trump - I am in favor of crippling trump, but not replacing him w/pence and perhaps vp ryan, I think they would be even more dangerous, worse policies, better rhetoric, better liars - I would rather have trump crippled so he cant implement any of his policies and keep freaking out swing voters and the democratic base for a 2018 wave election, thats how I would like to play this . . .

only thing keeping them from replacing him w/pence now is they
afraid the repub base will freak on them, what trumps base will
and will not do should concern us all, at any point i am concerned
trump will just take power

okay, struggled hard all day
got 2 pages (actually 4+ cause
i work in 10 poiunt single instead
of 12 double, my novel now is 91 pages

which is about 200 pages conventional
a thin novel but ima lose id say a 3rd if
all i do this draft is clean up slush

reason i slacked today is because i
tried to take waht i have deeper, resist

that arthur, drive forward, i need a full draft
in 2 weeks, next draft i enrich it, this go round
all i want is coherence, not necessarily depth

so lets schedule,, 10 might be pushing it
lets say 5 a day, count today, its not done

so 5 a day and i will have a coherent text

19 days, i can live with that . . .
right now 8pm my couny is 3

i need 2 more to make todays
cut, you can do this rick, dont
knot up this close to the line . .
